Bringing guests to a session

Members can bring friends to club sessions using guest passes. Here's how they work, what they cost, and how many you get each year.

What is a guest pass?

A guest pass lets an active Badminton Village member bring one additional player — a friend, family member, or colleague — to a session. The guest doesn't need a Badminton Village account. The member books on their behalf and pays the guest fee at checkout.

Guest passes are designed for occasional visitors. If someone comes regularly, encourage them to create their own free account and book for themselves.

Using a guest pass when you book

Guest spots are added during the booking flow for your own session.

  1. 1

    Find and select a session

Browse Sessions and click the session you want to attend. Tap "Book a spot" as normal.

  2. 2

    Add a guest

On the booking summary page, tap "Bring a guest". Enter your guest's first name — this is used at check-in.

  3. 3

    Pay for both spots

Your cart will show your member-rate spot plus the guest fee. Pay by card or bank transfer. One confirmation email is sent to you covering both bookings.

  4. 4

    Check in together

Show the organiser your QR code. It covers both you and your named guest. The organiser ticks both names off the session list.

Guest fee vs member fee

Clubs set their own pricing. Guest fees are typically slightly higher than member rates.

  • Member (you)

Member rate — the standard session fee set by the club.

  • Your guest

Guest rate — set by the club, shown on the listing. Usually $2–$5 more than the member rate to cover the club's guest administration.

Both fees are displayed clearly at checkout before you confirm.

Annual allowance

How many guest passes do I get?

Active members receive a guest pass allowance each membership year. The number of passes depends on your membership tier — check your membership page to see your current allowance and how many you've used.

Your allowance resets when your membership renews — unused passes do not roll over to the next year. You can use multiple guest passes across different sessions throughout the year; you don't have to use them all at once.

Once your annual allowance is used up you can still bring guests, but you'll pay a higher out-of-allowance guest fee at checkout.

Non-members bringing guests

You don't need to be a paying member to bring a guest — any Badminton Village account holder can book a guest spot. Non-members pay the full guest fee (set by the club) for both themselves and their guest, with no allowance discount.

If you're attending regularly, a membership quickly pays for itself through the lower member rate and the included guest pass allowance.

Quick FAQ

Can my guest book themselves in?
No. Guests are booked by the member on their behalf. The guest doesn't need an account.
Can I bring more than one guest?
Most sessions allow one guest per member booking. Some clubs allow two — this is shown on the session listing.
What if I cancel a booking that includes a guest?
Cancelling your booking cancels the guest spot too. Both fees are refunded if you cancel before the club's deadline.
Do guests earn loyalty points?
No. Since guests don't have a Badminton Village account, no points are awarded. Encourage your guest to sign up for their own account so they can earn points on future visits.
Can I name a different person when I check in?
No — the name entered at booking is the one on the session list. If you need to change the guest name before the session, contact the club organiser directly.
